Cambridge Roof Exchange provides industrial and commercial roof maintenance for warehouses, factories, offices and business units across Cambridge, East Anglia and the rest of the UK. Most roof failures on industrial buildings don’t start with the roof sheets. They start with a blocked gutter, a split roof light or a fixing that has worked loose, and they show up as water on the warehouse floor. Gutter clearance and gutter refurbishment

Blocked and overflowing gutters are the most common cause of internal leaks on industrial buildings. Our gutter clearance service removes debris, checks joints and outlets, and confirms water is draining away properly. Where gutters have corroded or failed, we repair or reline them before they cause damage inside. Industrial roof light replacement

Ageing roof lights become brittle and discoloured, cut out daylight and create a fragile-roof hazard. We replace them with modern roof lights that restore natural light and remove the risk to anyone working on or under the roof. Leak investigation and industrial roof repairs

When water gets in, we find the actual cause rather than patching the symptom. That might be failed fixings, laps, flashings, seals or damaged sheets. Our industrial roof repairs fix the source of the leak so it doesn’t come back next winter.

Flat roof repairs and protective coatings

On single ply, felt and hot melt flat roofs, we carry out targeted repairs and protective coatings that extend the life of the existing roof system. Our flat roofing work includes the refurbishment of the Aldi and Lok’n Store building in Staines-upon-Thames.

Roof inspections and condition reports

We inspect your roof in person and by drone, then give you a clear written report on its condition. It covers what needs doing now and what can be planned for later, so you have a record to support maintenance budgets and future decisions.

Planned roof maintenance or one-off repairs

Some clients call us when something goes wrong. Others prefer a planned roof maintenance programme, so gutters are cleared before the autumn and winter weather and defects are picked up before they turn into leaks. Either way, you deal with one team that already knows your building.

Commercial roof maintenance for facilities managers

A planned approach turns the roof from an unpredictable cost into one you can budget for. Our inspection reports give you a documented record of the roof’s condition to support your planned maintenance schedule, your budget requests and any future decision on refurbishment.

We work to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. We are NFRC members, SafeContractor approved and CITB registered. Fragile roofs, asbestos risk and safe access are assessed before anyone goes up, and our dedicated Health and Safety Manager oversees how every job is planned.

When maintenance is no longer enough

When a roof is past the point where maintenance makes sense, we’ll tell you plainly. Because CRE also carries out commercial roof refurbishment and overcladding and asbestos removal, we can advise on the right next step without handing you on to someone else.

Industrial roof maintenance FAQs

How often should an industrial roof be maintained?

Most industrial roofs benefit from at least one inspection a year, ideally with gutter clearance carried out ahead of the autumn and winter. Buildings near trees, or with valley gutters, often need more frequent visits. We’ll recommend a maintenance schedule based on your building.

Can you carry out roof maintenance while our site is operating?

Yes. All our roof maintenance and repair work is planned around live sites, including access restrictions, delivery schedules and site safety rules.

Can you tell us whether our roof needs repairing or replacing?

What if our roof contains asbestos?

Many older industrial roofs are asbestos cement. We assess and plan for asbestos before any work starts, and when maintenance is no longer viable we can carry out asbestos removal and roof replacement.
